Know When & Who To Call

In some situations, you may not be able to tell whether or not your child is in immediate danger. Emergencies consist of any condition that would be considered life-threatening. If any of these situations arise, call 911 immediately.

Major Emergencies include:

  • Loss of consciousness
  • Severe bleeding
  • Seizure activity
  • Major breaks

Minor emergencies include:

  • Lacerations
  • Minor Cuts
  • Fractures
  • Sprains
  • Child suddenly, drastically not acting like his or herself

You Know Your Child Better Than Anyone

For these minor injuries, please call one of our Chicago pediatrics offices first. Then, we can point you in the appropriate direction so that your child can receive the fastest, most immediate medical attention. Use your parental intuition: you know your child and you know when something is wrong. Trust yourself and bring your child to a doctor who can help diagnose and treat the problem at hand.
